Who We Are

Antakshari Foundation

Antakshari Foundation is a non-profit organisation, registered under Indian Trust Act, 1882 from 1996. Since its formation, the organisation has focused its attention to work for the upliftment of socially deprived and marginalized groups, with special focus on children who are vulnerable and living in difficult circumstances.

Currently, the organisation is actively working in two states i.e. Delhi and Rajasthan. In Delhi, the organisation runs a “Skill Development” program for marginalized children. In Rajasthan, organisation provides field based intervention in the district of Jaipur, Ajmer, Bundi and Kota. Along with field based intervention, the organisation also takes up research and documentation in the area of Child Protection.

In addition, the organisation with UNICEF is implementing a project titled “Strengthening Child Protection System in Rajasthan” and also runs a “Railway Childline (1098)” at Jaipur Railway Junction under Integrated Child Protection Scheme.
Expanding its horizon, the organisation has become a technical support agency for:-

  • Department for Child Rights (DCR), Rajasthan for the effective implementation of ICPS, POCSO Act, 2012 and JJ Act, 2015.
  • Centre for Child Protection of Sardar Patel University of Police, Security and Criminal Justice, Jodhpur for promoting child rights through academia.
  • Child Resource Centre of HCM RIPA for the effective functioning and capacity building of various stakeholders working under Juvenile Justice System.

The organisation provides assistance to various departments /agencies, statutory authorities, child protection practitioners, lawyers and other concerned stakeholders for the realization of Child Rights. The organisation is also engage in developing IEC material, guidelines, child friendly indicators and journal.

 

Department for Child Rights, Rajasthan

To  safeguard  the rights of Children, Government of Rajasthan has established “Department for Child Rights (DCR) on 17th May, 2013 . The vision of DCR is “To recognize and realize the full range of civil, cultural, social, legal, political and economic rights of all children, especially the most vulnerable, deprived, exploited and the marginalized, by creating an enabling and protective environment with equity and gender sensitivity”.

For realization of its vision, DCR envisages critical and effective partnerships within the government, with children, their communities, civil society organizations, UN agencies, corporate sector and concerned individuals. It is responsible for the effective implementation of laws and policies related to Child Protection especially Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, Commission for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005, Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS), Chief Minister Hunar Vikas Yojana, Protsahan Yoajan etc. All the structures mandated under above mentioned laws and schemes have been established which includes constitution of State Child Protection Society, State Adoption Resource Agency at state level and constitution of District Child Protection Unit, Child Welfare Committees, Juvenile Justice Boards and Special Juvenile Police Units at district level.

Department for Child Rights is responsible to formulate, review, amend the policies that addresses the needs of different categories and groups of children. To enhance and build the capacities of different stakeholders working in area of child protection, department has established a Child Resource Centre at Harish Chandra Mathur Rajasthan Institute of Public Administration.

For time to time Department develops and issues protocols, guidelines and SOPs on various Child Rights and Child Protection issues to improve the implementation of International , National , State commitment for Children .
